The drone prototype uses PixHawk 4 advanced flight controller with a Raspberry PI 4B micro processing unit to control the gripper arm. The gripping mechanism has been developed from the ground-up by our team. It uses an intelligent globoid worm-gear design that ensures self-locking of the gripping mechanism without power. The design features force sensors to measure the gripping force on the payload; thus, ensuring optimum gripping force. The Gripper also houses an ultrasonic sensor and a high resolution camera that are used in conjunction with machine learning algorithms for detection and capture of payload.
